I miss my computer!!!!!! I miss being able to just jump on and do my thing anytime I want to. Urgh! We are seeing if our computer can be salvaged at all, so fingers crossed!
Meanwhile in mi vida loca, life goes on. My oldest is really getting serious about applying for colleges. It's a very surreal experience. I work part-time at a ;local university and work often around college kids. Needless to say I've been getting all kinds of advice for the application procedure.
My second son is swimming through his sophomore year at high school. He is most excited about the Japanese club resuming. He really has a fascination with Japan and everything about it. Luckily they teach Japanese at his school. He's in his 2nd year and loving it.
My youngest son joined the FIRST robotics team at his school. He has always been a builder and now he'll get to participate in building robots and having competitions with them.
My oldest daughter has joined the FCCLA club and is trying out for the Glee club. She tried out for the basketball team but didn't make the cut. She handled it pretty well though. Her biggest problem right now is trying to pick the perfect song to audition with for the Glee club.
My youngest daughter has asked to be a cheerleader. Even thought the though makes my stomach churn we are going to let her do it. She is thrilled. She is also doing so much better in school now that her learning disability has been diagnosed and ealt with. She gets extra help with her reading and it has made worlds of difference!
My old man is on call for the next week. This means he lives next to the on-call phone and goes out any time. I like the overtime that it comes with, but miss the hell out of seeing him.
As for myself, I am recovering from a cold. I blame my job. I am constantly going and coming. I really do feel like a taxi driver sometimes, but no tips. My depression is under control, but I am keeping an eye on it. I tend to go down a bit in the colder months so this year I am trying to stay on top of it.
I have been crafting but don't have a way to upload any pictures yet, so you'll just have to hold on a bit longer. I have missed you blog! My favorite holiday is coming up though!!!! HALLOWEEN!! Now it's almost time for us to decorate. The costumes have been discussed and even worked on a little already! So far we have: Rocketman, zombie princess, and Coraline... I love Halloween so much!

Birthdays and Zombies Oh My!!!!

What a fabulous weekend! Saturday at the Poe Museum was a blast. There were activities for the kids including a costume contest and a mummy wrapping contest. The kids ran around looking for the ghosts that are said to haunt the museum. What a great place!

After the museum we made it with perfect timing to the Richmond Zombie Walk! I am definitely doing that next year! My favorite would have to be either the airline captain and stewardess or the ghoul scout troop. The kids loved it!

Then the next day we went to some church trunk or treats. The kids enjoy it and they are free! We met up with friends and got way too much candy!

I didn't get any pictures of our actual Halloween because it was pouring down rain and freezing. We went to a trunk or treat thing then hit a few houses in our neighborhood. The kids now have enough candy to last weeks, but will probably be gone by tomorrow. Now I have to rest...

My spawn are the coolest!
So tomorrow is my oldest daughter's 11th birthday! So for her birthday we are going to the Edgar Allen Poe Museum, as seen here:
http://www.poemuseum.org/index.php
They are having an event for kids, games, face painting, crafts, all themed with Edgar Allen Poe works. I am so excited about this! The greatest thing is my daughter is also super excited about this too! The only thing is the Poe museum event is held about the same time as the Zombie walk, http://richmondzombiewalk.com/ in town. We really want to do both... And that is why I have the coolest spawn on earth.

Zombie and life
So did anyone else watch The Walking Dead on AMC? I am so happy it's back! I almost never get invested in a t.v. show because I have a hard time keeping up when I miss nights. However, after last season's addiction to this kick-ass show I am proud to say I'm a Walking Deadhead! I LOVE zombie movies, yes even the crappy ones, but I'm always wondering what happens to the characters after the movie ends? The Walking Dead lets me follow those survivors, big sigh.... So yes folks, you should tune into this!

On another note, the spawn and I had a blast at the folk festival. We didn't go both days but made it there on Sunday. It was, as always, so much fun! We watched a hot dog eating contest, caught some great music, spawn-made crafts, and cool vendors. The weather was perfect and we just had fun!
I also got to meet my newest nephew last night. Babies smell so freakin' good! He's fat and gorgeous. I am COMPLETELY done with pushing out more babes but man is it fun to hang out with one! The little toes, the grins, the drool.... So over all I had a pretty good weekend!

Welcome!

Hi there! I'm so excited about starting this thing! I plan on talking about my crafts, with a bit of my family and life thrown in. I'd also like to share cool sites or things that interest me. I'm 36 years old, married for 15 years and Mom to five spawn ranging in age from 5 to 14 years old. I don't consider myself artistic, my drawings look worse than a kindergartner's'. But over the years I have come to realize my crafting is my art form. I love making all kinds of things, and trying new crafts. I enjoys lots of styles, but I really like unique styles. Sometimes I love the brighter colors, sometimes the blacks and grays.
Today I've been working on more pendants to add to my shop. I think my favorite of this bunch is a darker image, zombies rule! Here's a sneaky peek:
