A NEW DISHWASHER!!!!
Why is this such a fantastic thing to me? Well we have not had a dishwasher in three years. Our old one broke and was just sitting there, occasionally collecting some nasty water in it. But mostly I forgot about it. I became so used to washing dishes by hand that I actually spaced on how to load a dishwasher. I actually like hand washing. I am the only one who feels that way in my family though. Keeping up with dishes as a family of seven is difficult enough but it's really hard with no dishwasher.
My parents got my dishwasher at an auction. it's not top of the line but it works! We have already done one load and I am actually excited about running it again. Isn't it funny how sometimes the simple things make you so happy?

Cleaning Urges, but I'm NOT pregnant!!!!

Yes, after pushing out five little miracles from my hoochie I am pretty aware when I am pregnant. Besides, after the last one we did some, um, more permanent measures to avoid pregnancy for the rest of our lives. So WTF is up with my nesting/ cleaning urges lately? I'm wondering if it's because school is coming up, THANK GOD!!!! And the mini-monsters will be headed off to learnin' and I feel a need to be organized for this? I am also going back to work tomorrow so maybe that's it?
So far in the past few days I have completely cleaned my bedroom, caught up on ALL laundry ( a miracle of it's own!), re-organized and cleaned my cleaning closet, and now I am tackling my 16 year old's bedroom. What can I say, I'm a glutton for punishment! Whatever the reason I am trying to take advantage of this because who knows when it might strike again!

Spring cleaning?

Is it still considered spring cleaning if you do it on Memorial Day? The fam & I spent most of yesterday cleaning our house. We got our bedrooms, long overdue. I mean i actually dusted! I also cleaned our front room. Whew. Now I still need to get the rest of the house and the yard, no biggie...
I did get the paper yesterday and they had three pages of soldiers who had died in Iraq. The oldest one was 47 and the youngest was 18, just 18. It was such a sad thing. Whatever your stance on what happens over there, it is just sad about how many people die.
I also did go to roller derby benefit on Friday night. It was so nice to reconnect with my derby sisters! The bands were fun and the shots were delicious! I have discovered I really like Lemon shots, yummy!
So how's that for a weird posts? I covered cleaning, Iraq, and roller derby! Yay for my weird thinking!
