I was messing around with some yarn and wound up creating this little guy:
He doesn't have a name yet but he's so squishy:

Thursday, Bloody Thursday.....
Feeling the Halloween spirit yet? Well here's something to get you in the mood! I'm participating in a Halloween swap through my punkymoms and am having a blast making stuff. Here's my version of the slit throat choker:

I found this pattern at Craftster:

Cool and creepy right?

Help my brains are being controlled!!!!
I have a friend who LOVES Futurama, I mean really LOVES it! So for no reason at all I decided to make her a brain slug hat! Here's the original:

Here's what I made, by the way the lovely model is my sweet husband:

I'm really happy with the result! I didn't use a specific pattern but winged it. The hardest part for me was the stupid antenia! I can't wait to see what she thinks!

My HATS off to you!
**We now return you to your regularly scheduled blog, thank you for your patience**
Once again I apologize for not posting more, life and it's craziness got to me. Anyway, I wanted to post some pictures of my latest works, hats! I love making hats, they are so quick and fun and you can do so much with them! This hat is a sweet little crossbreed. It's part kitty and part owl:

This little number I made for my son. I even used an old pair of earring to make snake bites on it!

But don't worry I'm still making many more!!!!

Whew! I'm tuckered!
Trying to get back into the swing of things is so tiring! I returned to work this past weekend and am adjusting to it again. My kids are all home, finally! My husband just finished a massive work week, with tons of overtime. So yeah, my body is sore, and my mind is fried. I need a vacation!
My kids return to school in two weeks. As a matter of fact they return to school on my 39th birthday! I guess it's my birthday present. Don't tell anyone but they are all excited and counting down the days. No kid ever wants to admit to wanting to go back to school but they are so bored at home. Plus they want to see all of their friends again.
I'm excited about the idea of cooling weather. I love making winter gear, hats especially. So I'm starting on some cool hats for the spawn. I'm thinking monster hats for the family. Luckily crochet calms me...

Hippie Headbands
One of the blogs I follow, http://scenicglory.blogspot.com/ is always visually stunning. I love her picture at the top and I think I had headbands on my mind. I started out making a hat but quickly changed my mind. So I made my girls some rockin' hippie headbands, in their favorite colors of course!
Then I decided to get all artsy-fartsy and take some pictures of my beautiful girls

Octavian the Octopus
Meet an adorable little guy named Octavian:

He is squishy and cute! Argh! I can't believe I made him!

Not a scary or weird thing on him to be found

Despite him being way too cute for my taste I think I'll keep him around...

How about Misc?
Since my camera is still MIA, hopefully not for too long I thought I'd take a different approach to my life. I am miore than crafts if you can believe it! I might have mentioned it before but I have Major Depressive Disorder, MDD. Basically this means I have a disorder that includes depression and anxiety. It loads of fun, NOT! I control it with meds and therapy. I am pulling out of a downspiral again, hence the reason I re-started my blog. Writing and showing off my crafts makes me happy so there you go!

As you also know from my little intro over there-----> I have five amazing offspring. They include three boys and two girls and range in age from 8 to 16 years old. They constantly keep me either laughing or wanting to drink heavily, mostly laughing though! The one thing I knew I wanted to be when I grew up was a MOM, and I think I've done pretty well. My kids are smart, beautiful, funny, courteous, and a joy to have.

Lastly, I have to talk some sort of crafting! I have been working on several projects. I am crochet animals and monsters, painting weird doll heads, and trying fabric filled embroidery hoops from here: http://scenicglory.blogspot.com/2011/07/things-im-loving-this-monday.html

I hope you are having a fantastic day and having fun!

Ice Cream Crochet
Ahh, the hot days of summer... Nothing cools you off like some ice cream:

But which to choose? A yummy Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream cone?

Perhaps a delicious red Popsicle?

Or maybe an ice cream sandwich is more what you want...

Which ever you choose it'll be awesome!

Lampshade Cozy
I have a fantastically boring floor lamp in my t.v. room:

So I decided to give it a bit of loving by making it a lampshade cozy! I grabbed my super thick off white yarn and got to crocheting. I made it so it attaches on it's own and can be removed to be washed. I figure in my house it's bound to get dusty and grubby. I choose off white to keep the bright light coming through but you could use colors to change the light coming out too. So here is my cozy:

A bit closer:

Even closer:

I'm not sure why the pictures are coming out so orange, so just trust me that it's off white,k'? It was very easy to make and I love how it came out!

My 1st ever tank top!

I am so proud of this! I crochet a purple tank top for myself. I winged the pattern. Basically it's an Empire style tank. It took a lot longer than I had expected but it was worth the work!

The seam in the back isn't crooked, I just didn't straighten my shirt before the picture. I am thinking of embroidering some simple designs on it but I may just leave it alone.

Mom's Sweater
I made this lovely little spring/ summer sweater for my Mom. She loves it and wears it often. This was also the first time I actually followed a pattern and it worked!

I was so proud that it actually looked good! On a different note I went to a local Hispanic grocery store yesterday and came out with lots of yummy goodies and a set of these:

I can't wait to figure out what to make with them!!! As I laugh evilly and rub my hands together, Muahhhh!!!!

Pac-mania!!!!
I love crocheting little stuffy critters. I've made ninjas, monsters, etc.

My youngest son suggested I make a Pacman ghost. So I did, then I made more ghost and finished it off with a Pacman. I searched the web and found a few free patterns but wound up just making my own pattern. So Waka waka waka!
