End of School Again...

It is that time of year again, the end of school. With five kids in four different schools I am running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. The spawn have different schedules of half days and off days and field days and graduations and more. So today I am off to field day number one, the second one is Monday. I also will be dragging my second oldest along since he is off school today. As of one week from today they will all be done with school! Then starts the chaos of summer, weeee!

I am also busy trying to make some teacher appreciation gifts. So far here are a few ideas I am kicking around:

At least those are some ideas I want to do. This weekend will be hectic because the hubby is working, the two oldest are job hunting, and my baby girl will turn 9 on Monday! Arghh! Nothing like a bit of insanity to keep you sane right?

Crafty runs in the blood

I love making things, I see ideas all around me all the time. My daughter has obviously inherited some of this from me. She saw some leftover yarn and a Popsicle stick and made me a beautiful new necklace:

What a talent!

Itty Bitty Purse!

I make upcycled videotape purses. I have a bunch that I need to photograph and then will put them up in my Etsy shop. However the other day I had an idea to make a miniature vhs purse. So here is one of my regular size purses:

The purse is made of recycled videotape and normally I line my purses. I didn't line my itty purse, I might do it later though. So here is the itty bitty purse:

It came out way too cute!

Don't Throw It Away!

I found this fantastic crafting book at a used bookstore. I love this thing, the 70's style colors and ideas are awesome! Here's the book front and back:

And just for you I'll post one of the amazing ideas, yes it is a Meat Grinder Wall Plaque!!:

Another of my version...

I found this amazing tutorial on how to make a wreath out of old book pages at see kate sew:
http://seekatesew.blogspot.com/2010/10/book-wreath-tutorial.html
This was too easy to make and it comes out adorable. It's very shabby chic looking. I will add that I used staples that were a bit too short so some of my pages came out of the wreath. But I switched to longer staples and that fixed it. I used an old romance novel that I got off Freecycle. It was a very quick project. Here's my version:

Some of my Fav's...

I am in the middle of crocheting myself a tank top. It is taking me a lot longer than I expected. So while I'm muddling my way through that I thought I'd post some of my past crafts that I made & love:
Here are some record cuffs:

Thrift Store Re-Do

I found this fantastically odd lady's head at the thrift store and knew I had to have it. She called me to re-paint her! Here she is before:

So after some paint here is my new fabulous Lady's head:

I used acrylics and went to town! I did also use some glitter paint because it absolutely needed sparkles!

Record Box

I found this great tutorial over at Ready Made:
http://www.readymade.com/blog/craft/2011/05/31/a_new_reason_to_buy_more_records_record_box_tutorial
It was so fabulous I had to make my own! I added a liner to mine and am going to use it to hold yarn or current crochet stuff I'm working on. Also, how weird is it that I not only have the same Herb Albert album but can also remember my Dad owning it?
